KINO Complet!

Well on the 21st March I think it says below that I am back on it. I think that meant I had to take back sound because unfortunately other commitments stopped our guys being able to finish it. But because styles are so different I had to go from the start. After a year away from the film I had forgotten what I loved about it. It meant I got a years photography out of it but I did forget about KINO. and so it was a blessing really taking it back

After about 6 weeks the sound was done and then the score began. Similar problems with time and extremely busy genius composer Aleah. But it was amazing to have Al and Matt on board for the time they could help but again styles were too different and so the score had to be taken on from the beginning again. This was completed for the end of JUNE. and since then the last sceness were shot and edited at great pace. Today was the last of these scenes with the wonderful Chris Meredith and his wife Sue. I just cut the scene into one of the first scenes We shot with Kim. How long this seems ago. Christ. However I hope all who were involved in this film realise their achievement in how amazing they did in a film that costs less than a producers meal ticket!
And so since the 21st March to 8th August Alot of work has been accomplished by many and I think we have a film that breaks many moulds. Without executives over your shoulder it should be our right to simply fuck it and go for the most powerful and amazing ideas that we can come up with and I think Kino really has some blinders. Thanks to all those who've helped expand this mind of mine in Film Talk and also in the kindness expressed in the generosity in all those who have participated.

All my best wishes and love
Marco X

The film will premiere at the Peacock Lounge... Wednesday 30th September

Tonight the film was cut to a fine shape 1 hour 34 mins 34 secs and 17 frames... what a lovely number. Now just some pic up scenes to do and sound and music and colourisation and sharpening up again and then one more time and then maybe again and its done!

Thanks to all's support. Matt and Aleah for the aural delights that are coming and the constant support especially from Greg who i cant thank enough. It's amazing how an email can spur one on when the edit blues grow dark!

1 st Draft

The first draft of KINO has been edited. About 6 months quicker than I thought I'd do it. So I'm pretty stoked by that as new babies slow you down and it has.... but not as much as I'd thought... So on to a more precise cut and the sound mixing.

Sigh,

Maybe give myself a night off tonight hey?

Big love shouting out to the cavernous void that is the blog over edit time :-)

Kino Edit

KINO KINO
Happy Solstice! Happy Christmas!!!
How are you all? My how long since I last wrote anything.

Well the cave edit is on and it is slow and tricky. I love editing but it is such a process that its the cool memories and the odd meeting with an ex-Kino-ite that just propels me to carrying on. And the positive Greg texts which are invaluable. They are what made Spoken By Crowds get completed and what will get this one completed.

Greg is pushing MinstrelWallEye and the film We Are Hoodwinks which just needs a yes and we have a fucking good movie to make.

Clam Chowder is expanding too. I am now writing a film called MASANAGA, which has had the word Manga stuck to it in making it easier to understand, but I attribute Clam Chowder to it more. Taoist, graphic novel and Cool. It's a massive Matrix like film I've just finished the first draft to. It is so exciting a prospect but there's a long way to go. Probably millions of pounds of investment of a way to go but it'd be sooo cool!

I feel wrong not mentioning something.. and pretending all's normal for KINO and the future so I shall mention it now because it's happening and like I said it feels pretensious not saying anything. It's all cool but things are changing.

There is a sadness from Minstrel Wall Eye, as the Kimster has made her wonderful mark in KINO and with Chowder but is no longer continuing. This is a sad day for the films and for MinstrelWallEye in general as one of the generals has retired. As for me, when one's world is so heavily embedded in these stories and the making of them it is a sore day when someone leaves who is so close to ones heart and vision. Clam Chowder, Office Verve and all those films of the future will miss her terribly.... BUT but I hope the Theatre treats her majestically as I know whatever she does she will excel at, big time. I cant wait to see her first production.
I'm sure Kim will describe the beauty of the theatre soon and I hope her future will be as beautiful... Fucking theatre :)

Ok so I should have a bath and try focus on what the fuck should be the first thing to go for.
